John Despott

Founder, Chairman, CEO
In the mid-90s, John Despott launched a search for an inventive software product with a large local presence and international market potential. In 1996, SignIQ caught his eye and he took an interest in the product becoming Chairman and CEO/Managing Director of the SignIQ enterprise.

John’s focus on driving strategic growth resulted in an impressive business expansion from 30 stores in 1996 to over 5,000 stores today. SignIQ’s success is directly attributed to John’s interest in finding talented people and helping them develop successful careers.

In 2007, John led a MBO to reacquire the business and intellectual property of SignIQ, recommencing the business as a privately owned Australian company.

Michael Ursino

Chief Operating Officer, Director
A passion for practical technology inspired Michael Ursino to pursue a Bachelor of Technology (Electronic Systems) degree from Edith Cowan University, Bunbury. While studying, Michael worked with POS systems in retail IT where he developed keen insights into the usability of technology.

Joining SignIQ in 2001, Michael immediately became involved in major client implementations. His practical work experience informed his attitude towards developing a customer-oriented culture. Using technology as a tool to deliver excellent service, Michael’s intent is the continuous improvement of the customer experience for SignIQ.

Adam Despott

Customer Service and Delivery Manager
Starting his career in software testing, Adam Despott quickly developed a dedicated interest in the dynamics of the retail sector. Realising an opportunity to be part of something that could shape an industry, Adam views his role as ensuring the SignIQ team delivers exceptional service and software to every client.

Chris Stoyles

Architect/Senior Developer
Joining the SignIQ team in 2002 in a support role, Chris Stoyles has been involved in SignIQ’s largest implementations. His work at SignIQ involves the ongoing development of software providing him with continuous customer interaction. Chris’ goal is to ensure SignIQ understands the customer’s requirements and anticipates the demands of the retail industry.
